Pipe Bending

Ankay Büküm provides steel pipe bending from DN25 to DN600 with cold and hot bending methods in circular and elliptical forms.

What Is Pipe Bending?

Pipe bending is a metal forming process in which round steel pipes are shaped into curved forms at a specific radius using bending machines or specialized dies. At Ankay Büküm in Ankara's Ostim Industrial District, we provide steel pipe bending services across a wide diameter range from DN25 to DN600. Cold bending and, where necessary, hot bending (induction or heat-assisted) methods are applied. With over 30 years of industrial experience, we meet the bending needs of pipeline, power plant, and construction projects.

Application Areas

  • Power Plants: Precision bending for steam pipe elbows, boiler pipe coils, and heat exchanger tube bundles
  • Oil and Gas: Pipeline elbow fittings, bypass lines, and curved sections of process piping systems
  • Hydropower (HPP): Curved transition sections of penstock pipelines and turbine inlet bends
  • Construction and Infrastructure: Railing system pipes, curved bridge pipe elements, and landscape steel structures
  • Machine Manufacturing: Hydraulic and pneumatic pipe lines, exhaust systems, and hot air duct pipes

Technical Capacity and Specifications

Our facility bends steel pipes from DN25 (1 inch) to DN600 (24 inch). Wall thickness ranges from 2 mm to 30 mm. Cold bending minimum radius is 1.5 times the pipe diameter; hot bending achieves 1 times the diameter. We process welded and seamless steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, and special alloy materials. Post-bending ovality is maintained below 8%.

Quality Assurance

After pipe bending, every piece undergoes ovality measurement, wall thickness checking, and bend angle verification. Hydrostatic testing and NDT inspections are applied for pipes operating under pressure. Production complies with EN 13480 and EN 12952 standards.

At Ankay Büküm, our pipe bending service covers everything from single pieces to serial production. From our Ankara Ostim facility, we serve the energy, petrochemical, and construction sectors' pipe bending needs across all of Turkey. Frequently Asked Questions

What is pipe bending and what is it used for?

Pipe bending is a metal forming process where round steel pipes are shaped into curved forms at specific radii. It is used for pipeline elbows, coils, railing pipes, and industrial piping system bends.

What materials can be bent?

Carbon steel, stainless steel (AISI 304, 316L), alloy steel, and special material pipes are processed. Diameter range is DN25-DN600, wall thickness 2-30 mm.

What is Ankay Büküm's pipe bending capacity?

Cold and hot bending from DN25 to DN600. Cold bending minimum radius is 1.5x pipe diameter; hot bending achieves 1x diameter. Ovality is controlled below 8%.

What products are made with pipe bending?

Pipeline elbow fittings, steam pipe coils, heat exchanger tube bundles, railing pipes, curved structural elements, and industrial process line curved sections are produced.

How are pricing and delivery times determined?

Pricing is project-based according to pipe diameter, wall thickness, bending radius, material, and quantity. Standard elbow jobs are delivered in 3-5 business days. Contact us for a quote.
