What Is Pipe Bending?

Pipe bending is a metal forming process in which round steel pipes are shaped into curved forms at a specific radius using bending machines or specialized dies. At Ankay Büküm in Ankara's Ostim Industrial District, we provide steel pipe bending services across a wide diameter range from DN25 to DN600. Cold bending and, where necessary, hot bending (induction or heat-assisted) methods are applied. With over 30 years of industrial experience, we meet the bending needs of pipeline, power plant, and construction projects.

Technical Capacity and Specifications

Our facility bends steel pipes from DN25 (1 inch) to DN600 (24 inch). Wall thickness ranges from 2 mm to 30 mm. Cold bending minimum radius is 1.5 times the pipe diameter; hot bending achieves 1 times the diameter. We process welded and seamless steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, and special alloy materials. Post-bending ovality is maintained below 8%.

Quality Assurance

After pipe bending, every piece undergoes ovality measurement, wall thickness checking, and bend angle verification. Hydrostatic testing and NDT inspections are applied for pipes operating under pressure. Production complies with EN 13480 and EN 12952 standards.
