What Is Flat Bar Bending?

Flat bar bending is a metal forming process in which rectangular cross-section steel bars (flat bars) are shaped into circular, semi-circular, or custom geometric forms using hydraulic or mechanical bending machines. At Ankay Büküm, located in the Ostim Industrial District of Ankara, Turkey, we bend flat bars from 5 mm to 100 mm thick across a wide range of diameters, producing flanges, rings, frames, and reinforcement elements for industrial use. Technical Capacity and Specifications

Our facility uses hydraulic bending machines specifically designed for flat bar bending. We process bars from 5 mm to 100 mm thick and 20 mm to 400 mm wide. Minimum bending diameter starts from DN200 depending on cross-section dimensions, with production capability up to DN5000 and beyond. We process structural steels such as St37, St52, S235JR, S355J2, as well as Hardox and stainless steel flat bars.

Quality Assurance

Dimensional accuracy is critical in flat bar bending. Every part undergoes template checking, diameter measurement, and flatness testing after bending. Production follows our EN ISO 3834-2 quality management standards, and deliveries include material certificates (EN 10204 3.1) when required.
